GENERAL PURPOSE

We are looking for an enthusiastic Social Media Intern to join our team. The Intern will collaborate with our team to execute social media strategies and campaigns to enhance our online presence and engage our target audience. The internship will provide the incumbent with experience in a professional environment and hands-on experience in marketing and developing social media content.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with the Marketing team to align social media efforts with broader marketing goals and campaigns.
• Maintains social media accounts/online presence and continuously monitors all sites. Social media platforms include, but are not limited to:
  • Facebook
  • X
  • Instagram
  • LinkedIn
  • TikTok
• Posts and schedules relevant content while ensuring consistency of message across the multiple networks to maintain a consistent online presence.
• Track social media metrics and analyze the performance of posts and campaigns. Provide regular reports and insights to help refine social media strategies.
• Stay updated on social media trends, best practices, and emerging platforms to suggest innovative ideas for content and campaigns.
• Monitor social media channels, respond to comments, messages, and engage with followers to build a strong sense of online community.
• Create visually appealing graphics and images for posts and/or collaborate with designers when needed.
• Implement and maintain effective hashtag and keywork strategies to increase discoverability and engagement.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
• Adheres to all service standards as outlined in the credit union’s policies and procedures and protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Tik Tok, , etc...
• Basic graphic design and video creation skills (knowledge of tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with social media analytics and reporting.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING

High school diploma or equivalent training/experience.

Currently pursuing, interested in pursuing, or recently graduated with a degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Prior work experience in a professional setting preferred.
